The Denver Nuggets were able to continue their streak as the hottest team in the NBA with a 93-87 upset over the San Antonio Spurs at the SBC Center.

Andre Miller scored a playoff career high and dictated the pace of the game by making Tony Parker play defense. This resulted in Parker shooting a miserable 6-17.

The Nuggets also got great interior defense from Nene, Marcus Camby, and Kenyon Martin in holding Tim Duncan to an improbable 7-22.

The Nuggets managed to attack the basket better than the Spurs, as shown by way of their 30 free throw attempts compared San Antonio’s 19.

The Nuggets must now make full use of their 1-0 lead and not be complacent in returning to Denver with the series tied at 1-1.

The outburst of Andre Miller will be something that San Antonio will adjust to prior to game two, which means that K-Mart and Melo will need to put up more than a combined 25 points on 8-28 shooting.

Expect to see much more out of them and an incredibly physical and up-tempo game two against the Spurs.
