The Denver Nuggets need to regroup and regroup fast.

The Nuggets let a golden opportunity to take a lead in their best of seven series against the Spurs slip away by shooting a miserable 17-30 (56%) from the free-throw line and by turning the ball over 15 times en route to a 78-86 loss to the Spurs.

The Nuggets had seemingly every answer for Tim Duncan holding Duncan to 11 points on 5-19 shooting, without having any answer for Manu Ginobli who scored 32 points off the bench.

The only answer that the Nuggets had for Ginobli came late in the game by way of a Carmelo Anthony flagrant foul.

If the Nuggets want to continue in these playoffs they’re going to need to clamp down on defense and make some free-throws.

The Nuggets will come out running in Game 4 and will look to take Tim Duncan out of the game the same way they did in Game 3.

If there’s anything that George Karl can say was positive, it’s gotta be the job that Marcus Camby and K-Mart did in holding Duncan in check. The Nuggets cannot afford to lose games in which they manage to make Duncan seemingly obsolete.

Look for the Nuggets to leave nothing on the floor in Game 4, knowing that they will more than likely not come back from a 3-1 deficit in San Antonio.

Look for the Nuggets to make this series interesting and to search for someone to step up somewhere on their roster. Whether it’s Melo, K-Mart, Boykins, or Andre Miller, somebody’s got to step up and answer.
